The StevieMix Dance Show this Friday night from 9PM-10PM features Part 1 of our two night "Best Dance Songs of the Decade". Part 2 will be Friday February 19 from 9-10PM.

Artists features will be Darude, 50 Cent, Lady Gaga,M.I.A.,Katy Perry, Daft Punk, Usher, Rihanna, David Guetta and more.

We'll be spinning House, Techno, Hip-Hop, Pop remixes, mashups and other genres all mixed live as usual. Tune in, get on the floor and dance to your favorite tracks!

We'd like to know your favorite dance songs of the 2000's.
We're planning to have 2 shows later this month on the StevieMix Dance Hour, Fridays 9PM-10PM to play the top dance songs from the past decade. You can post your suggestions/comments right here by commenting on this blog.

Songs should be those that you can't resist getting on the floor and dancing to and must have been released between 2000 and 2009. They can be in any genre except Polka and Waltz (sorry fans of those genres but we're aiming more for music you'd dance to in a typical club). We have quite a few candidates from artists like Darude, 50 Cent, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Usher, Rihanna, Gorillaz,Bass Attack,Bodyrox,Justice and more. We'll probably have categories like hip-hop,pop/remixes,house/electro house,techno and others.

Each year we play over 1,000 songs on the StevieMix Dance Show and tonight at 9PM-10PM we will play our favorites from songs released in 2009.

This week StevieMix will have guest Fairfield's Aaron Shier live, mixing original tracks by his group, Les Boyz Electro from 9PM-10PM Friday, December 18.


Les Boyz Electro is Aaron and Colin White and is based in Montreal, Canada.
Recently Les Boyz Electro remixed a track called Heaven by MC Mario on MC Mario's Most Wanted 2009, which also has tracks by dance heavyweights
Wolfgang Gartner, Klaas, and Kaskade. The album is currently Canada's fastest selling dance compilation album.

StevieMix will be spinning some great mashups tonight (Friday) from
9-10 PM.

A mashup is an extension of song mixing where multiple songs (often from completely different genres) are mixed throughout the track.  DJ's often use a baseline song that acts as a common thread on these tracks.

Tonight we'll have mashups of Nirvana/Lady Gaga, an off-the-hook track from DJ Lobsterdust mixing Michael Jackson/Paul McCartney/Rihanna/Mary J. Blige/Nelly Furtado/ Nine Inch Nails/Diana Ross/Rick James/The Temptations and more to be determined at show time.

KRUU DJ's Theo Shier and StevieMix will be performing with cousins Raphael and Aaron at the Shier Madness! Party after Art Walk, Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10PM 'till late at the Beauty Shop (103 S. The StevieMix Dance show this Friday from 9PM-10PM features Aaron Shier (left). Aaron, formerly of Fairfield and now creating, performing and producing music internationally, has spread his musical genius to the world of dance. Aaron is a rare combination of singer, song writer, guitarist, bassist, synth player, sound engineer and superb, emotional performer. We'll be playing his brand new house tracks Be My Slave and Intoxicated. Be My Slave is already a hit on the club floor!

As usual, we'll be playing a variety of genres including house (Kristine W.), 80's and more. The 80's tracks include a tremendous Pet Shop Boys remix about the famous film star pictured above right.

Listen this Friday June 20 at 9PM-10PM to special guest star DJ Astro Raph on the StevieMix show. He'll be dropping some sick mixes with me-anything goes and this man can mix anything. We'll have house, techno,hip-hop,polka,gregorian chants,ragtime,freedonia folk dances and more:) -really just great dance tracks. Astro Raph grew up in Fairfield and now is a professional dj with mad skills performing 5 nights a week in Maui.
