Lakota Chief Arvol Looking Horse, Obama Energy Policy Advisor Jack Darin & Phosphorescent Spotlight on Planet Erstwild Fri 2-5pm
Planet Erstwild will feature a bouquet of interesting topics this Friday including a live in studio interview with visiting Lakota Chief Arvol Looking Horse, his wife Paula Horne and their son, Ca'-Ton Zepheir, who resides in Fairfield. He will be giving a presentation at the Civic Center 2pm Saturday December 29th.
When Arvol was twelve years old, he was designated as the 19th Generation Keeper of the Tradition of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe. People of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota Sioux Nation believe White Buffalo Calf Woman appeared to the tribes hundreds of years ago, bringing instruction in sacred ceremonies of how to live in balance with all life, and leaving behind a sacred bundle containing a sacred pipe of peace. The 1994 birth of a white buffalo calf is believed to have been the sign that these times were now at hand.
Jack Darin is an energy policy advisor for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. Working closely with the Senator in Illinois, Darin will share his insights on Obama's environmental policies including nuclear power. He is giving a presentation on the subject Friday night at the Fairfield Public Library, 104 W. Adams on Friday, Dec. 28th at 7:30 p.m.
Also, we'll have an update from
some of the videographers getting ready to shoot a video of PHOSPHORESCENT this weekend in Fairfield. The Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, New York-based singer/songwriter will be performing at Revelations Friday night at 8pm.
Hey, they don't call it Planet Erstwild for nothing!!
Arvol is just a big drunk and holds a title that he gallavants around the world with as a Chief. All/most of his women put him into positions he stands on now as they want the glamour for themselves. He doesn't know how to present or speak! Ask him when he started being a wannabe Lakota. He drinks alcohol where ever he goes. Thats not holiness.
these comments are untrue. i pray for balance in your life so that your heart will be healed. there are many so-called spiritual leaders of different faith who let people down and are not truthful at all. Arvol is not one of these, he is a good leader and a good person. one day you will see the good that Arvol is doing for our people, for all people and for our traditional ways. he walks in a good way. are the women in his life strong? you betcha they are. we lakota woman are strong and have always been a strong voice all matters in peace and in conflict. our men listen to the women, its the traditional way for us, and often the women make the decisions. our men know we speak as the givers of life. i pray that your heart is healed and that you walk in a good way.
Who ever posted that remark about Arvol Looking Horse....you are a shame.
Pretty tough you are remaining anonymous. No respect, no honor, no dignity. You must be pretty sad and pathetic to write things like that.
Tough words as you remain anonymous. How dare you speak about Arvol Looking Horse that way. He has done great work to protect our ways and help to build bridges between the Native Nations and the world.
Your words alone expose you as what you are....
What a shame you are
i will be tuned in from the mountains of western north carolina!
