Soon after the opening set dedicated to the London funk jazz fusion group, The New Mastersounds (photo left), listen closely for a triple-play from last week's show stopper, Young Galaxy (photo below right), the Vancouver, B.C. based indie dream pop band. This band seems destined to move from the fringe to mainstream. But, until they do, they will get a major dose of support from KRUU-FM. DJ Underground Man tells stories of his recent small venue concert with Sarah Jarosz who contributes two tracks from her 2009 CD.
First-timers to Fringe Toast include these groups: The New Mastersounds, The Books, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, JD McPherson, Caveman, Still Corners, The Slip, and Tim Bronner... most of whom will perform in the second-hour Chill Session. Click here for play list.
