some old voices get better with age, like jimmy cliff [left] and carlos santana. they still tour regularly and play with artists from a variety of musical genres. and each released some vibrant and exciting new music this year. jimmy cliff's cd "rebirth" is a revelation, especially this week's track "one more"--in which he reminds us that he may be old, but he still as "one more song to sing...one more shot at the goal..."
santana's voice is his guitar, and his new cd "shapeshifter" is refreshing because it's mostly instrumental music.
along with several indie artists few people have heard of, let alone heard, this week i'll also preview 3 new songs by the group muse, from their cd "2nd law," that is scheduled for release next month. they are amazing. and then there's a new song by this guy, dylan. his voice is shot, but the song is hot. and norah jones.
