Event is free and open to the public. Details available at www.ases.org/tour or 319 594-0086. [Click on "Read more" below for complete list of local solar tour sites.] Last year's National Solar Tour attracted more than 150,000 people in 49 U.S. states and Puerto Rico.

Come first to the New Sustainable Living Building on the west side of campus just north of the MUM Library (1010 N 4th St., look for the wind generator!). Pick up your guide to other tour locations and visit in any order. Knowledgeable folks will be on hand to answer questions at each site.

Visit more than half a dozen solar-powered homes and businesses around Fairfield to learn more about using the sun to power your home, heat your water, lower your utility bill and reduce your carbon footprint! The MUM Dept of Sustainable Living is sponsoring the tour in partnership with the American Solar Energy Society, who has mobilized communities across the country to showcase their solar power all on the same day- the world's largest grassroots solar event!
