We've been keeping you posted about replacing the Co-Ed Theater in Fairfield. It's Orpheum Theater signexciting to tell you things are moving forward- it's happening, dear film fans. In a theater meeting last night with Chris Johnson and about 12 others, Patricia Draznin mentioned folks lamenting the closing of the Co-Ed. She viewed this as an opportunity for a new, or newly renovated theater, providing an improved movie-going experience. We've always resonated with this. There are too many conscious people here who love the movies! The "Co-Ed" will be no-more. It was originally named "The Orpheum" and current indications are that will name will return. If you're a film fan you have reasons to get excited about about a marvelous addition to Fairfield's cultural distict. We'll keep you posted with more details as they happen.

The Wachowski Brothers, now the Wachowski Siblings, made The Matrix, IMO one of the great filmosophical films of our time (first one only) and a fave for many of us. I vividly remember seeing it opening night at the Co-Ed in 1999. We had movie posters for everyone and I remember rushing down to Phil Scott afterward exclaiming "They could call this The Maya!" Everyone was jazzed. We've been waiting for another film from them that may entertain and inspire us to a similar degree ever since. Indications are their new film Cloud Atlas may come close. We'll talk about that and more on the Filmosophers, with Chris Busch & Bruce Miller "where we give our filmosophy of the movies and have filmosophical discussions." Fridays, 12:30 PM Central, again Sundays 9:00 AM. Live stream @kruufm.com "Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future. Everything is connected." - Cloud Atlas
