Writers' Voices Dec 15

What I've learned so far from hosting Writers' Voices- the most important part of being a radio host is finding the right guests. And so far, I'd say that's my biggest talent. Our guests have been articulate, interesting and enthusiastic, and that makes our job pretty easy. So far, finding talented writers to interview in this community (including a few expatriates) is a breeze. So far, my mother (Caroline Kilbourn) and I have interviewed:

  • Chrystel Kohl and Paul Merrill on the benefits of a Writers' Group.
  • Marcy Luikart on attending Writing Conferences and breaking into the literary short fiction market. Cheryl Fusco Johnson on teaching and mentoring children's writers, with a second appearance on the best books on writing.
  • Nancy Mellon on storytelling as a healing modality.
  • Julie Stephens and Chris Menkemeyer on the writing of Tom Robbins
  • Diane Frank on the poetic novel
  • Carol Klein on editing anthologies and today's show (which you can hear Monday morning at 8 am) -
  • Linda Egenes on the career path of a freelance writer.

Thanks to each and every one of them - and stay tuned for more!
