these sounds are pure roots. created and mixed to spread the messages that need to be heard most. the voices of the voiceless: the indigenous peoples. this show is a mixture of these voices. remixed. dubbed. layered. music, both traditional and electronic. voices, both poetic and revolutionary.

from the indigenous musicians of the Solomon Islands, to the Krikati Indians of Brasil, and peoples of Vanuatu, the sounds are fresh, unique and powerful. that is just the begining.

"eyes of one who paints" includes traditional Tongan chants, spoken word by Kokana Dub layered with music by Michael Franti and Carl Young.

Monami, a song for Mumia Abu-Jamal and Leonard Peltier, includes Indigenous Resistance, and features Technosiko from Senegal and Dandra Dub of Brasil.

late into the show you will hear a track called The Original Sosolakam Rockers. never before have sounds such as noseflute from the Solomon Islands, Nyabinghi drums from Jamaica and Swampy Cree traditional singing from Canada, been mixed so fluidly together in one track. this is just one example of how amazing these sounds from around the world are and how they are being mixed and sampled.

we end the show with some of St. Croix's finest: Midnite.

the earth is a small, diverse and an ecclectic family. full of creativity, sound, color and movement. Indigenous Resistance captures some of the lesser known word, sound and power of our world family. rise up. wise up.
