seems like the summer should be over by now.

maybe it just needs one last summer bash to finally exorcise all the built up heat. so this week, i'm playing songs about summer. and after 60 minutes, i'm thinking that'll do it. summer'll finally be over.

in addition to frank sinatra, rascal flatts, and war [left], you'll hear some new takes on the old "summertime," by west african angelique kidjo, an ambient remix of sarah vaughan, and a brilliant (if i do say so) summer mash-up of sly & the family stone vs. the beach boys.

mostly, these're mellow summer tunes: be lanuit [right] "summer breeze," deodato's "spirit of the summer," bebel gilberto's "so nice," the acapella group inside out, and koop. the songs are here.
