Truckstop Souvenir are coming on the show tonight to play some great music. Dennis James and Lauryn Shapter make up Truckstop Souvenir, whose music “does not rely on any sort of trickery ... [with] a sound that lives in the balance between old Southern country music and folk ballads, drenched in lazy and relaxed atmosphere.” (Roots Highway).

It is not often that we celebrate our first year of existence - in fact it might not happen more than once ...
Sooo if you like the Magyar Mix, or if you don't like the Magyar Mix but willing to give an other try, or if you don't know what Magyar Mix is or if you just happen to turn on your radio set on September 30th at around 1 pm, we hope that you will listen to our anniversary edition when we hand pick the best tunes of this past year for your Sunday afternoon enjoyment of the musical fruits of a far away culture...

Hungarian State Folk Ensemble Performs in Ames and Burlington

"Speaking Freely's" Dennis Raimondi did a live phone interview with the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble who are on tour presently traveling through California. It will be rebroadcast Thursday morning at 8am along with a translated interview by Laszlo Papp with the Ensemble's dance director.

On Sunday January 28th at 1pm, Laszlo Papp will replay the interview in Hungarian as part of his show "Magyar Mix", which he shares with his son Almos.
