I had many great meals at Alan Tardi's restaurant Follonico on 24th street near Broadway in Manhattan before it closed in 2001.

Alan has since moved to Italy and in May of this year his book, Romancing the Vine, was named the winner of the James Beard Foundation's best book in the Wine and Spirits category for 2006.

Learn about life in a small town in Piemonte as Alan reads from his book and we talk about life as seen through the seasons of the vine.
